Baking with Dezzy

intro baking sessions for kids ages 6-10

Where little hands learn big skills. Baking with kids isn’t just about sweets— it’s about confidence, patience, and creativity.

Who Am I?

I'm Dezzy, a student at Glendale Community College currently enrolled in the Restaurant Management program. Caring for others has always been at the center of what I do. Whether at home or a professional kitchen, I’ve learned the importance of patience, attentiveness, and showing up with care.

I truly enjoy being in the kitchen—especially baking— and love sharing that space with kids in a way that feels calm, encouraging, and fun. For me, baking is about more than recipes; it’s about building confidence, practicing patience, and helping kids feel proud of what they create.

I’m newer to teaching baking in a formal setting, but I’ve taught children I’ve nannied for how to bake many times, and it’s something I genuinely love doing. I’m excited to continue learning, practicing, and growing as an instructor while introducing kids to the basics of baking in a supportive, hands-on way.

My background in hospitality and the restaurant industry has taught me how to stay organized, work thoughtfully, and remain calm under pressure—skills that naturally carry into the kitchen. My goal is to create a positive first experience with baking where kids feel safe, capable, and excited to learn.

      What sets me Apart

I’m a beginner too. I started learning how to bake just a couple years ago, which means I truly understand what it feels like to be new in the kitchen. I know the excitement, the mistakes, and the small wins that come from learning something from the beginning.

Because we’re on a similar path, I teach baking in a way that feels patient, encouraging, and approachable. If I can learn this skill step by step, so can your child. Baking takes practice, patience and confidence— and my goal is to help kids build all three in a calm, supportive environment.

      Beginner-Friendly

Baking is taught with patience and encouragement, focusing on progress—not perfection.
